September Southeast Asia Bible College Newsletter #43

Dear valued praying partners,

I pray and hope you are fine. By God’s grace, the Bible College is going well and the students and faculty members are fine. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and partnership in the teaching and equipping ministry of SEA Bible College.

SEABC Students’ Gospel Outreach Ministry:

The SEABC students usually have Gospel Outreach Ministry every weekend. They used to go to rail stations and the seaport where they could reach hundreds of people by sharing the Gospel and distributing Gospel tracts. The Student body is divided into four groups – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each group used to go to a children’s home in Shwepyethar to teach songs, share their testimonies, and preach the Word of God at Sunday worship service. Learn more about the gospel outreach ministry here.

Bible Distribution:

By God’s grace, we have the wonderful opportunity of doing Christian Literature Ministry. Our missionaries and bible students freely distribute some books and bibles to different places in Myanmar. And, we sell some of them to believers who can afford to pay for some parts of the actual cost. Learn more about bible distribution here.

Mission Trips to Mandalay, Pyapon, and Kyaiklatt:

Elder Ah Asiau, a couple and bro. Kap had a mission trip to Mandalay from August 19th through August 21st, 2015. We visited missionary bro. tin Htay in Mandalay and had a Gospel meeting in the evening. About 4 of the attendees accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

Flood Relief Works:

Heavy rains, landslides and floods severely damaged many houses in some towns and villages, as well as bridges and rice fields in around 12 States / Divisions (out of 14 States/Divisions) in Myanmar in the first week of August. Because of severe landslides, especially in Chin State (Hakha town; some villages such as Taahzang, Kahgen, Vongmual, Khamzang, Nakzang, etc.) many people had to move to refugee camps and still need to build new houses in new places/areas. By God’s grace, the Lord graciously allowed us to help some flood/landslide victims. We bought rice and distributed it to thousands of the flood victims in Kale, Nakzang, Taahzang, Khamzaang, Kahgen, Vongmual, Khampat, Hakha-lay, Tuikhing-zaang, etc. We are so thankful to the Lord for the Stewards Ministries (USA), CMML (USA), EOS (UK) and believers who worked with us for the flood victims. Learn more about our flood relief works here.

Prayer Requests:

1) Please continue to pray with us for the Flood Relief works we are doing;
2) Please pray for God’s protection, provisions, and the effectiveness of the teaching/equipping ministry of the Bible College (SEABC). Thank you so much for all your prayers and partnerships. To God be the glory!

Serving together for Christ,

Praying Partners #36 Update from the SEABC

Praying Partners #36 Update from the SEABC

Dear valued Praying Partners,

By God’s grace, all the students and faculty members are fine and the Bible school is going well. College’s Day of Prayer: We had the College’s Day of Prayer (Fasting prayer) on August 16th. Many of the students shared about God’s goodness in their lives and we all gave thanks to our good Lord for His guidance and providence for all the needs of the Bible school. We prayed for all partners and friends of SEABC that the Lord will continue to abundantly bless them and mightily use them for His Kingdom and glory. We also prayed for the Gospel revival in Myanmar and around the world. Medical check-up for some students: Dr. Se Sen, a born again believer from Canaan Gospel Church had times together with some of the Bible students at the Chapel on July 27, 2014 and had medical check-up (e.g. blood pressure, flu, some miner deceases, etc) of 10 students. It’s been a great help for the students who came from rural areas and who never had a medical check-up.

Gospel Outreach Ministry of SEA Bible College:

The SEABC’s students are divided into four groups – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. There are 15 or 16 students in each group. Each group is doing Gospel outreach ministry every weekend, especially on Sunday by distributing Gospel tracts and sharing about the Gospel mostly at the Yangon seaport. The students usually distribute Gospel tracts to at least 1500 people within 2 hours. They also have the privilege of sharing the Gospel on the boat / small ship. And one of the faculty members (sometimes the President of SEABC) and the senior students usually have Gospel trips to Shwepye-thar twice in one month. The students teach songs and lead praise and worship in the worship service of Shwepye-thar Children Home. The children really enjoyed singing and listening to the message preached by the preacher.

Visiting Lecturer:

Dr. Dale Schreiber from Lombert, IL, USA comes to Myanmar once a year since 2007. He taught the book of Galatians to third and final year students this year. During his stay in Yangon, he preached at Canaan Gospel Church two Sundays, teaching adult Sunday School at Hebron Assembly, and teaching Salvation and Christian Life at Dala, beyond Yangon river. All the Bible students and many believers were greatly blessed through the teaching and preaching of Dr. Dale. May the LORD continue to mightily use and abundantly bless him and his wife Mary for His glory Kingdom!

Gospel Meeting:

By God’s grace, we had a Gospel meeting at Dala on August 24th(Sunday). The meeting was attended by around 45 people. In the morning session, Dr. Dale Schreiber taught about the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Satan. He powerfully preached at the Sunday worship service. In the afternoon session I (Kap) taught about salvation. By the work of the Holy Spirit, 10 people accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord before the end of the afternoon session. Please pray with us for the spiritual growth of those new converts and the other Christians. Please pray also for bro. Naw Naw and his family. He is pastoring a home church at Dala.

SEABC’s Literature Ministry:

By God’s grace, we translate some effective and useful Christians books from English to Myanmar language. And we give Bibles (NT & the whole Bible) to believers, missionaries, and unbelievers who need the Bible and who hunger for the Word of God. We are so grateful to our good Lord for providing the needs for this literature ministry.
